Poem : Night

There was a night

we stood hand in hand, eyes to the sky

and I wondered why the stars

shone with grandeur, magnified...

as if trying their hardest.

 

I'd seen many nights of beauty

but none as strong.

 

I lay the thought rest,

as I succumbed to slumber when we parted,

and then in a dream rose to ask them

"Why so bright,

tonight?"

 

The twinklers, blushed and confessed,

they were merely mirrors,

enviously reflecting,

what they saw in you.
